On The Road, On The Screen
Well, it appears one of my favorite novels is going to finally make it's appearance in Hollywood. Kerouac's "On the Road" is finally getting some attention, and Francis Ford Coppola, who has owned the rights since the 70's, has struck a deal with the director of "The Motorcycle Diaries".
So, what does this mean for the novel that jump started the Beat and Hippie generations, as well as inspiring someone like me 40 years after the fact? With a director like Ford Coppola, and an artistic directory that has dealt with the stories of influential figures, On the Road may actually get it's proper shot at celebrity. As long as they don't cast Brad Pitt as Cody, I think we're in good shape for an amazing movie.
We'll just have to wait and see what lies ahead...
